Stephen D. Taus II, MS, LMFT

Stephen is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), and the founder of the Taus Wellness Center for Marriage & Family Therapy, Inc.

Stephen has been providing counseling services since 2003. His style and approach to therapy is warm and friendly, while at the same time intelligent, honest, and heartfelt. He is passionate about his life calling, and finds immense joy in helping others materialize and actualize their positive life vision. Stephen also believes firmly in what he calls the “big five” for good health:

  1. Good Nutrition
  2. Ample Sleep (6-9) hours
  3. Regular Physical Exercise
  4. Daily Meditation
  5. Positive Social support

His belief is that Human beings are at their best when these five elements of wellness are attended to on a regular basis.

Areas of expertise:

Stephen focuses primarily on treating relationship problems, addiction, depression, anxiety, and panic disorders.

Areas of Interest:

Stephen is interested in the study of American culture and the Obesity Epidemic. He has great hopes of better understanding this problem, and hopes that through Taus Wellness, he will make a positive contribution towards ending this epidemic.

Education:

Stephen holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of San Francisco, and completed his graduate studies at Loma Linda University, where he earned an M.S. in Marital & Family Therapy in 2005. The Commission on Accreditation for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (COAMFTE) has accredited Loma Linda University, making it one of the very best training grounds for this therapeutic discipline in the United States.

Clinical Memberships:

Stephen is an active member in three Professional Mental Health Organizations. He holds Clinical membership with the American Association of Marriage Family Therapy (AAMFT), the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (CAMFT) and an Associate membership with the American Psychological Association (APA).
